For four consecutive Sundays the World and has featured in worship. At the Harvest Festival Service on September 29th all the gifts were given to the Basics Bank in Fareham, which ensures that those in need can be given emergency provisions. October 4th was designated as Climate Change Sunday and the evening service showed how we can care for the world in which we live and ensure that it is there for future generations. The Young People led worship on 11th October with the theme “God is still speaking,” (and the comma it was emphasised is very important) and using audio visual material together with appropriate music, stories and meditations and readings from the book of Psalms to show how science leads to new discoveries and shows just how God is still speaking, . On October 18th the congregation celebrated the beginning of One World Week when all ages concentrated on how fragile the world is and what everyone can and must do to share its riches so that no-one goes hungry. Throughout this period there has been an opportunity, by means of a retiring collection, to donate money for relief in the recent tsunami
